Introduction to HTML5 Camera for Confluence

HTML5 Camera for Confluence plugin connects your computer's, smartphone's or tablet's internal and external camera devices to Confluence.

You can add camera macros to pages, blogs and best of all document templates and blueprints.

Taking photos is easy and fast. Just open the page in you browser and take photos. No need to edit the page or upload the attachments. This is done for you.

Browser and operating systems supporting HTML5 cameras are growing and more and more combinations are supported. Currently HTML5 Camera for Confluence plugin works on:

  • Mac OSX using Chrome & Firefox
  • Windows using Chrome & Firefox
  • Android using Chrome & Opera

Using the macros

There are four macros that can be used for different types purposes, depending on your need.

Camera Finder macro

This macro is essential for taking photos. You use the finder to compose you picture. There are to parameter for this macro:

  • finder-height is the height in pixels
  • finder-width is the width in pixels

Camera Controls macro

This macro adds controls for camera devices. Thera are several parameters you can use:

  • show-onoff adds Camera on and Camera off buttons for enabling and disabling camera. Otherwise camera is enabled automatically when you view the page.
  • show-pause adds a Camera pause button.
  • show-preview allows you to view picture before sending it the server. Preview area is add with Camera Preview macro.
  • picture-height is the height of the picture taken in pixels.
  • picture-width is the width of the picture taken in pixels.

Camera Preview macro

This macro is optional and is used only if Camera Controls macro is configured to use preview. Preview macro has two parameter that should be set same as the same picture-height and picture-width values in the control macro.

Camera Profile macro

This is a free macro that can be used with Camera Finder macro. Place this macro on intranet's personel pages where new emplyees will see it or create a wrapper user macro and use on the profile page. This macro has one parameter:

  • show-onoff adds Camera on and Camera off buttons for enabling and disabling camera. Otherwise camera is enabled automatically when you view the page.
